EVERY EMERALD HAS ITS OWN STORY

Thanks to the history and experience of the founders of our company, VCE has developed a strategy that guarantees the quality of its gems. For us, each emerald writes its own history and this depends entirely on the conditions in which nature provides it to us.

After having made the selection and purchase of our gems, the stone reaches us to be carefully studied and evaluated by our team of gemology experts, who identify its composition and characteristics from which they create a suitable work route for each particular stone.

The definition of shape, the treatment, its size as a finished product, and the duration of the entire process are conditioned by these characteristics in such a way that the optimal mishandling of them can directly intervene in the value and quality of each emerald. Our company stands out for the careful and delicate handling of each of the emeralds we treat.

Once the work route is defined, the cutting molds are made and our stones pass into the hands of artisan carvers who carry out their transformation step by step with the cutting, shaping, roughing and polishing of the gem. They are in charge of taking advantage of most of the stone so as not to reduce its weight considerably or affect its resistance depending on the inclusions that each one has. An important part of his work lies mainly in reading from manual work and observation what each stone reveals during the execution of that route, since it may be subject to changes as this process is carried out.

There are different types of carving, the best known are the cabochon and faceted, the latter is the most common style for these gems and can be produced in different shapes: teardrop, heart, circular, oval, square, or the most representative, the rectangle. popularly called "emerald cut".

After carving, it is time for the purification and cleaning process, with which all external agents that enter the stone during the carving process are eliminated. Some gems are oiled as waterproofing, however this process is not necessary in all emeralds and the less they have this process, the greater its quality and purity, since the emerald preserves almost 100% of its natural condition.
